Reiki is a unique and highly effective healing technique & modality for balancing and energizing oneself and others mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The method is both simple and direct in its amplification of "Ki", or "Universal Life Force Energy". Reiki requires no thought or belief system to activate it, but rather it is a self-directed movement of powerful, yet subtle, energy through one's hands. It can be utilized as a self-help technique for daily preventative health maintenance, stress management, relief of tension and pain, and to promote specific healing... like addiction.
The essence of Reiki is the Life Force itself, and when utilized consistently it can develop wholeness, positive well-being, and personal growth.
The word "Reiki" is made of two Japanese words, "Rei" and "Ki". Dr. Mikao Usui was a Japanese Scholar and Monk, who rediscovered the ancient traditional method in the 1920's and fashioned the name Reiki.

The meaning of "Rei" is Universal, that it is present everywhere.
The meaning of "Ki" is Life Force, that "Ki" is energy that gives life to all living things. In other cultures, "Ki" is known as Qi, Prana, God Spark, The Holy Ghost or The Holy Spirit.

My Healing Journey on Becoming a Reiki Master

It wasn't until I experienced a significant health transformation, and sobriety, before my "real" spiritual healing journey as an adult began. After struggling with my weight and alcohol addiction for many years, I was numb and exhausted of living a "less-than lifestyle". Caught up in the Corporate Sales World of continuous grinding, exceeding sales quotas, and increasing emotional stress... my health completely deteriorated and spiraled out of control. It literally broke me down! Desperate to make a lifestyle change, I knew deep down that I had to change myself, and the bad habits that got me to this point. I knew that wasn't going to be easy, because I had to face my biggest addictions of all... Food & Alcohol.
Deciding to tackle the core of my addictions, I first started with my diet and food on a cellular level. Through an amazing new cellular technology and intermittent fasting program, in a matter of less than 2 months I had lost over 50lbs+ of fat. Blown away by my own personal health results, I still didn't feel satisfied knowing that I could achieve more.... but I was scared. Realizing that this was just the tip of the iceberg, I knew that I had to go way deeper in order to start truly healing myself. I had to get sober, plain and simple. I had to put in some serious hard work, sweat, and lots of tears to find the many deep seeded roots of why I started drinking in the first place.
After my first 2 weeks of sobriety from alcohol, I lost another 20lbs+ of weight (Beer-a-holic). Awesome right?!? Not really. Here I am down over 70lbs+ of weight loss and looking better, but still feeling unhappy. Why was I still feeling like this? The psychological challenges began for me and I started to seek the answers for my truth. After thoughtful self-reflection and honesty, I had never personally learned Self-Love or even understood what Self-Love was. I didn't have the tools to cope with sobriety and my own addictions, nor even where to start to look. I was struggling daily, trying to relearn how to enjoy all of life's wonderful experiences and amazing friendships without drinking alcohol and eating whatever I pleased. I needed to heal from all of my life's experiences and traumas, relearning how to face my emotions head on.
This is how the magic of Reiki was synchronistically called into my world, and how I stumbled upon Self-Love. I haven't looked back since, now celebrating over 10 years of sobriety! My life has experienced a momentous positive change spiritually, physically, emotionally, and monetarily. Reiki has been such a life changing experience... to where I've now been blessed to express my passion to need, not want, I need to share this hidden ancient medicinal gift with the world. It has called me to my true path of why I am here on this earth; to help heal us all... one Life Force Being at a time.
